Miniball Camp

The Clare Cascaders basketball club will hold an open three day miniball camp from Mon. 17th Aug to Wed 19th Aug. at the Ennistymon Community Centre.The camp will cater for boys and girls aged 7-10yrs who will be attending 2nd to 5th class in the coming school year.
The daily camp duration will be from 10am to 2pm each day and will be a fun filled introduction to those new to the game of basketball and a chance for some of last seasons players to get back to the hoops after the summer holidays. All parents interested in enrolling their children for the camp should contact Vinny Leigh at 0860886015 as soon as possible as numbers will be limited.


END OF SEASON AWARDS 2009

Clare Cascaders end of season awards night took place on Friday the 17th of April at the Community centre. The night was well attended by club players and parents who watched as the u10 members displayed their skills on court for an hour before the awards began. Guest of honour and presenting the awards on the night was American coach Bill Reagan who was instrumental in coaching the Cascaders in their first season.The awards began with club members Brian Leigh, Ryan O' Halloran and Clionadh Considine receiving their Introductory coaching awards. There were two awards presented to two members of each squad in the club and these were for Most Improved Player and Best Defensive Player.The club person of the year award was presented to Clionadh Considine for her contribution on and off the court all season. Highlight of the awards was a special presentation to Ciaran Devitt to mark his achievement in making the Irish U16 team. Club chairman Stephen Leigh thanked all present and commended all the clubs players and coaches for their efforts during a season which saw all the clubs teams make great strides in their leagues. THE LORCAN O' CONNOR CUP

The annual Lorcan O Connor memorial cup for all U-12 Club members was played during late February/early March .A total of 75 boys and girls participated in three Friday nights of league games to decide the top four teams who would contest the semi-finals of the competition. The Cougars captained by Aisling O Connell emerged to meet the Eagles led by Niamh Hogan in the final and this game proved to be very exciting with the Eagles emerging victorious by 7pts. U13 GIRLS

The u-13 girls squad have become the Clubs first team to capture league honours when they won the Galway league U13 cup in thrilling fashion over Maree from south Galway .. These two sides having met twice previously in the league and with honours even going in to the final were easily the two outstanding teams in their league. The closeness of the two previous meetings would ensure a very keenly fought contest and this proved to be the case with our girls emerging victorious by 3pts. The team was captained by Sharon Roche and great credit is due to all the squad and their coaches Sean Devitt and Mary Gleeson. U13 Gallery 2009.....



KILKENNY CUP

The annual Frank Kilkenny memorial cup will be held next April and this years tournament will be contested by a selection of girls U-16 teams includig our own current squad. Tournament provisional date April 25th/26th.
